Documentary On Lunarians
This is a documentary on the strange race of humans known to most as the Lunar Tribe. The Lunar Tribe refer to themselves as Lunarians. Ive heard a couple of different pronunciations, but the most common seems to be LOON-AIR-E-UN.
Lunarians come from the planet of Lunaria, a planet more distant from the sun than that of Earth. Lunaria exists in the same galaxy with two other life-supporting planets: Sol and Bewana. While Sol is closer to the sun, Bewana is at the exact same distance that Earth is from the sun, so its temperatures are identical to that of Earths.
Lunaria is a much colder planet due to its distance from the sun. In the warmest regions of the planet, the record high is 70° F. On average, Lunarias summers are 50-60° F. Their winters are 0-10° F. Since their homeplanet is so cold, Lunarians are very vulnerable to warmer temperatures. Anything above 75° F will have a drastic affect on them. Although the way Lunarians respond to the heat seems to vary almost as much as fingerprints: no two Lunarians react the same way.
Due to being further away from the sun, the planet of Lunaria takes longer to entirely orbit the sun. In fact, it takes 10 Earth years to orbit the sun. Therefore, Lunarians age much slower than humans do: 10 human years is one Lunarian year. The average lifespan of Lunarians is around 70-80 Lunarian years. Although on the warmer climate of Bewana, their lifespan is cut off by about 5-10 years.
The planet, though somewhat larger than Earth, rotates just as quickly as Earth, so its days are exactly the same length. As such, Lunarians require at least 8 hours of sleep every day. Though doing the summertime on Bewana, Lunarians adapt strange sleeping habits; sleeping during the hottest parts of the day and staying up more at night.
Lunarians need to eat and drink, just like humans. Their bodies run on almost the same kinds of minerals as humans do. The biggest internal difference between Lunarians and Humans is that Lunarians do not have a heart, veins or blood. Instead, their bodies digest and process the food and vitamins they eat, converting it into a strange kind of energy.
This energy has different types, just like blood types. (Although Lunarians call them Affinities.) Lunarian energy can be transferred between two people of the same affinity. These affinities are assigned to the hair colors: yellow, pink, blue, purple, red and silver. The energy glows whatever color its affinity is. This energy is the Lunarians life source. If completely drained of their energy, they die.
Lunarians have given names to their affinities: Blue Moon, Pink Moon, Red Moon, Yellow Moon, Purple Moon and Silver Moon. All of which are colors that Lunarias moon has been known to appear as.
When wounded or injured, energy is drained from all over the body and concentrated on the injured area. How much energy is drained depends on the severity of the wound or injury. Lethal wounds are wounds so great that all of the energy is drained from the victims vital organs. When afflicted by an injury, the Lunarian usually becomes fatigued to some extent.
The hair of Lunarians glows according to their health, or more specifically, to the amount of Lunarian energy within them. When at full health, their hair glows as brightly as the moon. When ill or injured, energy is drained from their hair (as well as other places in the body) to counter the sickness or injury, thus resulting in fainter-glowing hair. The only time Lunarians hair doesnt glow is when theyre dead.
The moon of Bewana seems to emit the same kind of energy that Lunarians live off of. Lunarians seem to have the ability to absorb and process this energy, despite the fact that Lunarias moon doesnt emit energy at all. Lunarians generally start feeling more energized and awake when theyve been outside in the moonlight for at least an hour. Because of this, theyre often seen basking in the moonlight during the fuller phases of the moon.
Lunarians also speak and write their own language. Even their names are difficult to pronounce. The simplest words in the Lunarian language is Yes and No, that being Si and Ni respectfully. (Both are pronounced like the word lie) The rest of their language is very complex and difficult. Their language in written form is basically forms of symbols.
Even though Lunaria has technology advanced enough to explore outer space, they dont have explosives or bombs. They instead developed anti-gravitational devices which allow for lift-off.
Despite its advanced technology, ordinary metal weapons are used in combat. The planet has four continents, and a long history of intercontinental wars. Wars and skirmishes are almost constant, and a part of every day life.
Lunarias animals are quite different from Earth or Bewanas animals. Lunarias sky is also darker than that of Earths, due to the distance from the sun.
Lunaria has different kinds of minerals than that of Bewana. Lunarian metal reacts abnormally to that of Bewanas magic. When struck by a magic attack, Lunarian metal somehow gains the ability to drain Lunarian energy from its wearer. Lunarian metal is also a purplish color, so the military of one of the four continents use this color as their color code. (Hence why most of the Lunar Tribe wear this color; theyre from the continent of Lunaria.)
